Why Is It Different?
It is a community center for older people in the
community as well as residents. It has a wide range of classes that includes art, poetry,
tai chi, exercise, creative writing and yoga, and other subjects; weekday community
lunches; arts and crafts shows and sales, bazaars; trips to historic sites, resorts and
markets; cruises on the Potomac; parties, dances, concerts, travelogues; lectures on
health, legal problems, and political issues; blood pressure monitoring, Health Fairs; and
many other events. Most of these activities are open to the public.
Why Do They Need You?
St. Marys Court needs direct community involvement in order to get
volunteers to teach, participate in and arrange activities and to raise money to support
this whole range of programs and activities.
