What is it?
A local community of 150 active seniors 62 years of age or older who have brought to
the area a new vibrancy, community awareness, and enhancement to the facility.
Where is it?
St. Marys Court is located at 725 24th Street NW in the historic Foggy Bottom area
of Washington D.C., between G and H Street, near churches, synagogues, and The George
Washington University Hospital. It is within
walking distance of Metro, the Kennedy Center and numerous shops. The building offers a wonderful view of Washington.
Who Lives There?
Any person who is 62 years of age or older, or individuals with
accessibility needs, may apply. Residents who
live here are friendly and varied in their backgrounds, talents, and interests. A newly formed Residents Association plans many of
the activities, trips, and special functions.
A highly qualified staff ensures a well-maintained facility with all
appropriate services.
Why?
They wish to live longer in a community where they
can be fully independent, employed or involved, yet pay affordable rents in a comfortable
and secure building.
Who Pays For It?
The residents pay a percentage of their income for rent and the federal
government subsidizes the balance. A Corporation owns the building for which the federal
government has provided mortgage financing.
